Great house for large groups or groups that want more private areas. Surrounded by tall pines and peaceful location. Note: living area is on second floor. Tall stairs from the ground up to the 1st floor where 4 bedrooms and a small living area is. Then there is another tall flight of stairs to the kitchen and greatroom and master bedroom. If you have any knee pain or an other condition be aware of the stairs and high altitude. We had one guest who found it difficult to climb the combo of stairs.

Agate Bay provided a clear, clean, and helpful experience. Communication is all done via email and then text just before you check in, which was very nice for me. Nothing about check in or our stay was confusing or unclear and they were immediately responsive if we had any questions. The property itself had everything we needed for our big group in town for a wedding -- plenty of bathroom space, large kitchen, open common room and dining area for group gatherings. The area is super beautiful and peaceful -- lots of birds to watch from the deck and no noise from the street or neighbors. Just note that this rental company doesn't fully stock the kitchen as much some other Airbnbs do, so plan to bring your own olive oil, most spices, etc. Otherwise they had plenty of pots and pans and the like.

Perfect cabin for a bachelorette of 12! It was spacious and comfortable. There was only a few minor hiccups, refrigerator not being cold right when we got there so we were worried our food was going to go bad, but it fixed itself, and was cold by morning. and the fireplace in the master beeping all night because the battery went out. Staff was super responsive and came out to fix it the next day making sure we had a good nights sleep the next night! Also there’s no service which made it hard to get ahold of staff but the wifi worked great!!!! 4.75 stars!!!

The house was delightful, spacious and nicely appointed - really nice dining table and great gathering area / living room. Bedrooms were great. Hot tub worked fine and we could see the stars.

Amazing views and located in a peaceful, quiet neighborhood! Check-in was quick and easy thanks to clear instructions from host. Bathrooms and bedrooms were clean and stocked with enough towels, shampoo/conditioner, and soap for my entire family. The kitchen was pristine and had everything we needed to prepare meals. We all had a relaxing weekend and would love to come back!

Our group of ladies had a wonderful stay at the Shelton house near Kings Beach. The house was fantastic for our large group and clean. Agate Bay was responsive and straight forward. Thank you for a seamless renting experience!

Wonderful place to stay for a large family! Living area/kitchen was just perfect for all of us to eat, cook and hang out! Enough comfortable beds for all of us! Only issue is ….be prepared for lots of stairs! Other than that would highly recommend!

We had a great trip here during a ski vacation with family. The location was great, very close to Northstar and local amenities. The house was even nicer than I expected! We would definitely stay here again!!

The house was even better in person. It was incredibly spacious and all the rooms were roomy and clean. The house actually comes with 2 masters and both have king beds so that was a pleasant surprise. Only 2 things I'd say are if you have sensitive allergies to carpet, all the rooms are carpeted. If you have older people in your group, there are a lot of stairs to go up in this house so keep that in mind before you book. My father is old of age so it was a bit of a struggle for him but we let him have the room on the floor where the kitchen and living room was so it didn't pose as a problem later. The kitchen was very spacious and clean. It came with a lot of equipment. Great knives (most Air B&B come with very dull knives), that was something I really appreciated. Lot of space for kids to run around. It's in a great neighborhood and very quiet at night. We came during the winter so our night walks were so beautiful. Will definitely book again and recommend!

This place exceeded our expectations. Everything inside felt nice, new, and premium, from the gorgeous kitchen, to the mind blowing bathrooms, to the expansive living room. It is certainly a little pricier than some other options, but in this case you absolutely get what you pay for. If you want to splurge a little on your Tahoe trip, this is the place to do it.

We had a great stay for a group of 12. Very close to Northstar resort. Very modern but cozy property. Only issue we ran into was with limited hot water for showers after a day of skiing. Would definitely recommend this place for a mid size group, 10/10 stay!

The house was phenomenal. The rental company was very responsive and helpful. The rental itself was in excellent condition. The only complaint is that the garage was too small for two full size SUVs. I would definitely stay here again.

Really enjoyed our stay at this property! Spacious and fit our needs with a few families taking our kids to experience snow for the first time. Host was super responsive!

Everything is taken care of (snow removal was great). As a skier, I’d bring my friends to stay there for a weekend worry free, again and again.

Great for a big family, we loved staying here! We liked everything about this place - it was spacious and clean, but also cozy.

Large cabin, great for big families. You walk-in the front door to a small living room, 4 bedrooms, and sliding glass door to the deck with the hot tub. From their you can go upstairs to the open concept family room/ kitchen, and master bedroom. Garage parking was convenient for loading/ unloading. Nice quiet neighborhood. 5 mins to kings beach, 15 mins to North Star, and 20 mins to Tahoe city.

The house was fantastic lots of great aspects to the house. Some minor details could use attention but overall it was a pleasant stay!

We enjoyed our stay and they were very responsive and professional.

This spot was everything we needed and more! The location was 12 minutes from the Northstar Resort, which is exactly where we spend our whole days. The easy drive back allowed you to still have energy to enjoy all the amenities like the fireplace, and the jacuzzi, in the evening. We took three vehicles and had 11 people total and the amount of space was perfect for everyone to feel right at home! Would highly recommend staying here!

excellent place for our family! lots of room for kids to run around. the kitchen is large and pretty well stocked. and the location is unbeatable! the internet could be better but zoom calls/conferences were possible if there were not too many devices connected management company is very responsive all in all a great place. would definitely stay here again!

Agate was awesome and very professional. We had a family trip and it was literally perfect. The house was clean and had everything we needed plus more. We will for sure try to book with them again.

Overall, this place was fantastic. There were a few very minor issues here and there, but the value, given the cost, was unbeatable! This is a fantastic place to stay if you're looking to take a big group up to North Star for a long weekend. Unfortunately, the hut tub was not previously serviced and had some issues that made it unusable for our stay. The host was kind enough to provide a partial refund, and handled the issue smoothly. If it was not for the hot tub problem during our particular trip, I would give this 5 stars.

This place was amazing!! It comfortably housed five couples for a 40th birthday winter getaway. I would definitely recommend this place and stay here again.

We had a great time at Shelton house, which is a beautiful place down the highway from Northstar, just up from Kings Beach. We appreciated the snowplowed driveway the morning after we arrived in a blizzard! The house has a great backyard for snow play with kids.

It is minutes away from lake and there is a great view 2 min walk down the road.

We had a few issues such as broken fridge, broken dishwasher, ant issue in the master shower. Agate was super fast to respond and send someone out and mentioned they’re fixing both appliances soon. Overall great house - really spacious. If you stay here, be mindful that the neighbors seem to be very sensitive to noise- they complained about our group at approx 5:30pm on Saturday of Labor Day weekend when we had 7-8 people outside in the hot tub with no music on. House has wifi that essentially doesn’t work with more than 1-3 people on it- wasn’t an issue for us.

This was a lovely spot to stay with family, had everything you needed, and great location in North Shore.

The house was spacious, and the location was wonderful. There could have been more seating in the living room, and the couch was damaged. It appeared as if the previous guests had thrown a pretty large party and left some items damaged. Again, however, the house was perfect for our needs.

This place is exactly as described. The kitchen/living room area is very open, we spent most out time here. With a few of us in my family it worked out great. They have a nice large table and the kitchen is amazing. My family enjoyed our time here. The WiFi is slow, but it was nice to disconnect from everything. Great place, close to the lake and store. Recommended and can’t wait to go back.

There was tons of space for the 10 people we had. the bathrooms were very nice! Hot tub was a perfect feature and we used it a lot. The fireplaces were nice and warm. The fireplace in the master downstairs however wouldn't turn on. Also, couldn't get the speakers in the ceilings or walls to work. Agate was very quick to respond and help with anything we had questions with. All in all would definitely stay here again.

Nice big house with great big gourmet kitchen and spacious rooms. The WiFi in that area is very weak and really doesn’t work - probably due to the location. We used this to our advantage and unplugged from technology for a few days! We will definitely come back next year! Some minor suggestions for improvement: softer and better quality bedding, pillows and mattresses, providing Tupperware containers for food storage, clothes hangers (there are basically none), a full length mirror upstairs in the master, more bath towels and soap for larger groups/visitors that stay more than two days, and hooks in the bathrooms to hang wet suits and towels.

The house is beautiful. A bit off the beaten path. Be advised if you need to do anything that requires internet, it is akin to dialup, so plan accordingly. Mgrs were super responsive.

Fantastic layout for multiple families, great location for skiing or riding at Squaw or Northstar and super close to the lake. Only one small thing is the WiFi is almost not usable when multiple people are on. While we love being disconnected we had children who needed get school work done and were not able to. I would book again but have a plan ahead if internet was needed for work.

It's spacious and great for families and large groups. Also, the location is perfect to enjoy outdoor activities like skiing and hiking. Just know that there's no cell service and basically no internet; also, bring your own hangers and toiletries (shampoo, shower gel, etc.), and be sure to have the right car and equipment if visiting in the winter as the house is far from the main road.

The house was very nice with good amenities. Rooms were big, comfortable, and clean. Only draw back for the price was a dishwasher that didn’t clean dishes and WiFi that was spotty at best. But these items can be fixed and we would stay there again. Family really enjoyed their time there.

Gorgeous, well appointed house great for big groups. As others have mentioned, the Internet was spotty during our stay which made baby monitors and streaming music/movies difficult. Other than that, a great stay!

This house is exactly as it looks in the photos. It's the perfect place to host a large family gathering. The kitchen is well stocked with all utensils and great, high end appliances. The knives were nice and sharp (something you don't often find in rental properties) and we loved that there were lots of glasses and mugs as they were in constant use! The rental company was very responsive when we had an issue with the fireplaces and checkin is a breeze as you just use the code sent and you're in! Cons: The two king beds are very firm - more than we liked. The addition of soft feather pillows as an option would have been nice. Internet was not reliable. Not sure if that can be improved given that it's a mountain home but be aware of it if you are trying to work remotely.

Our party of 10 (6 adults, 4 kids) really enjoyed staying in this house. There was more than enough room to accommodate everyone comfortably‚ we could all gather together in the living and dining rooms, but could also find privacy in the bedrooms or downstairs TV room/den when desired. The two master bedrooms were also very spacious, and all three bathrooms were clean. The kitchen was large with more than enough stuff to cook the meals we had at home, including a large griddle that was perfect for a big pancake breakfast and a grill that was in good shape and had enough propane. It was also convenient to have kids‚Äô dishes and cups available, which not all rentals have. In addition to the grill, amenities included several TVs (we didn't use, so not sure if they worked); the hot tub (clean, working well); Wi-Fi (like others, we had some initial issues, but resetting it solved the problem); washer and dryer (convenient to have but needed to be used during the day due to volume and vibration); beach chairs and a wagon; some games, kids‚Äô books, and puzzles (but don‚Äôt get your heart set on finishing the 1000 piece Lake Tahoe puzzle, which was missing pieces‚Ķargh). The uncluttered and clean garage was handy for parking cars and storing gear. Other than the hot tub, the outside space isn‚Äôt that useable (the yard isn‚Äôt really maintained, patio furniture could use some attention), but we were out and about so often it really didn‚Äôt matter to us. Plus, all the talk of bear safety in the house binder freaked out some of the kids and adults (per the directions, we sprayed a lot of Pine-sol around the outside of the windows and doors after cooking)! Other than some cobwebs, the house was very clean, and with the exception of one really hot day, the house cooled down nicely once we got home and opened the windows. The location was relatively convenient and it felt private and was quiet; other than some tree trimming one morning while we were getting ready to go out and a few dogs sporadically barking, we barely heard the neighbors or much traffic. The toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and cleaning supplies we brought or purchased were unnecessary since the house already had them. Other than the steep staircase, the house was child friendly (not sure if there are safety gates since our youngest kid didn‚Äôt require them). A few minor issues were addressed quickly by the host and they did a good job communicating with us about those. We did have an issue with the refrigerator, which was a bummer, but the host offered to remedy the situation. Overall, it was a great home base and we'd consider staying again if returning to Lake Tahoe.

Our group LOVED our stay here. The place was very spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. Location was awesome as well as it was only a short drive to North Star and very close to the grocery store! Communication was also amazing as they were super responsive and answered all my questions. EXTRA, EXTRA kudos because I ended up leaving my iPad there and they found it and FedExed it to me. Lovely house for big group trips! We picked this house for our group of 9 friends because the common space is large and very easily accommodated everyone in our group whether it was at the couch or the dining room table. As mentioned in previous reviews, the wifi is definitely spotty - especially when there are so many people trying to use it. Overall, a beautiful house with all the amenities we could need.

Beautiful home. Quiet area just like you expect when going to Tahoe. Far enough from wherever you’re from to be alone but close enough to get what ever you may have forgotten on the way. Agate Bay is only an email away if needed.

Wow. We had a wonderful vacation time in this house for our 2017 Winter Holidays. This house is just amazing in terms of space, style, calm, cleanliness and location. We strongly recommend it.Your house is amazing. We truly enjoyed our vacation. This is one of the best house that we rented and we will definitely will ask you to rent it again in the coming years

This house is fantastic! There is plenty of room for a large group- we had ten and there was a seat for everyone in the living room and room for everyone to have a seat at the table. We really enjoyed staying here because of this. The location is great- a short drive to King's Beach. Everything was clean, communication was easy, and it was a beautiful place. My only tip would be to bring a cooler because the refrigerator may or may not take a while to get to temperature once you begin to put items in it.

This house was a perfect weekend summer getaway for a multiple family group. Kitchen is well equipped and big open upstairs living area with large dining table is great. Would have loved a pool table! A few miles to the beach for summer enjoyment. The warm summer days kept the house pretty hot in the late afternoon and at night, would have loved some fans. Due to the 10pm restriction, we didn't use the hot tub, since we didn't know that in advance it was a little disappointing. Overall a good experience.

This house was great for our group. Tons of space for everyone and the main living space is huge. Great kitchen, lots of deck space! Location was perfect for us, just far enough from town to be peaceful but close enough to be convenient. Definitely would recommend this house to larger groups.

We had friends and family fly in from Chicago to enjoy Tahoe with us. This was the first visit to Tahoe for many of them and we wanted a house that could accommodate everyone. This house provided that and more! We loved having the large living room and kitchen where everyone could gather and the kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking essentials. We would definitely come back to this property!

we stayed here with 3 families, including 5 kids. It is a very nice house with beautiful view of the mountains in the front and woods in the back yard. The kitchen was completely stocked. The house was extremely clean and very well maintained. I guess that make the cleaning charges worthwhile. We were even able to get a courtesy late checkout, which was very useful in getting all the kids packed and ready to leave. I would definitely recommend this house for large groups with kids.

This home was a perfect match for our big family. It's well appointed, comfortable and no one wanted to leave. We weren't lacking for anything and will look to rent this home again in the future!

Shelton is a beautiful property. It offers plenty of pots, dishes and kitchen supplies. We find everything in perfect and working condition. The house is much beautiful than it looks like in the pictures. My family and I loved it. And we would love to come back.

The house was large, luxurious, and had amazing views. No fenced in backyard led right into a walking trail which we took twice daily. So many fun activities to do both at the house & nearby. Def. plan to come back next year!!!

Nice and spacious house! It was just the right size for our small family get-together. WiFi bandwidth was not great for multiple devices. The location was quiet and private. It was close enough driving-wise to all of our scheduled activities.

This is a beautiful home in the mountains but close to Kings beach. Everyone was very quick to respond when we needed. I would just be prepared to not have internet or cell service. We enjoyed our stay with our family.

Beautiful place, big backyard to play in the snow in, jacuzzi was easy to use. Also really close to Northstar ski resort. All in all very nice place to stay at.
