Forest Retreat

We stayed here with friends so we could get married. The home was warm and comforting. The space was very usable and flowed well. The kitchen was spacious. The beds were comfy (if you like a firmer mattress ..which I do). The decks were awesome!!! The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We had a great time and will be back with family!

We had a fantastic experience with this rental! The property was cozy, offering a peaceful retreat in a centrally located spot. The highlight for me was definitely the hot tub – a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. Highly recommend!

We had a great time at the cabin. The listing and pictures were accurate. The cabin was well equipped. We were also able to walk to Garwood's and the beach from here. We would definitely love to rent it again!

I was nervous because I didn’t know what to expect but to my surprise everything from the booking to the checking out it all went really smoothly My family and I felt like we were at home even my mother in law who is a very hard person to please was very pleased so much she said she wanted to come back soon. This Carnelian Bay property was peaceful and beautiful. The home was clean, cozy, had all the necessary supplies and had amenities that worked perfectly for our family of varying ages. Additionally, Agate Bay management company did an excellent job with communication every step of the way. Including going out of their way to help us arrive early and stay a bit longer to accommodate some family to arrive early for birthday decorating and on the tail end accommodate the longer exit due to little ones. A great time was had by all and we made wonderful family memories.

This house was everything we wanted for our new year celebration. Roomy, nice and clean. Definitely loved the jacuzzi. Only a 30 min drive to northstar ski resort and nice restaurants in the area. Would absolutely book again!

The property was quiet and clean, very cozy and great for quality family time away from the daily "hustle and bustle" of everyday life. Easy to check in and out. Weather was cold, however, enjoyed skiing during the day and the hot jacuzzi during the evenings after dinner. Agate Bay Realty made sure all our needs were met. We had a great time at this property. The communication was easy and quick and the place looked just like the pictures. The neighborhood was amazing as it was so silent during nighttime and early in the day which helped at making our weekend more enjoyable and relaxing! On the other hand, Kings Beach was right at our door step so it was a great location with many places/restaurants close to us! We absolutely recommend to stay there!

House was great for my family and I. Great location in North Tahoe close to beaches, restaurants, and the mountains. The house is in a quiet neighborhood and the porch was really nice to enjoy the beautiful neighborhood.

This listing is a great stay for anyone wanting to stay in a quiet area of Lake Tahoe with great access to beaches & water activities via King Beach as well as essentials. The cabin itself was clean, well stocked with bedding and towels, and the check in instructions were clear and simple. The reality company itself is also very attentive, reaching out to ensure that everything was going well after the first day. However be sure to bring some essential pantry items - the kitchen has many utensils but seemed to be stripped clean of salt, pepper, etc… The TV is only set up for cable so bring a portable streaming device for Netflix, Hulu and the like.

Great big house. Perfect getaway in a quiet neighborhood. Kitchen & living room is upstairs. Plenty of property around the house. Only con was that the hot water ran out after 3-4 people showering, it could have been because we had the hot tub on at that time as well. The lake is a mile walk from the house, BUT a rocky beach/dog area. You will have to drive to Kings Beach area.

The Forest Retreat was adorable and amazing. We easily fit 8 adults spread between the 4 bedrooms with no issue and the kitchen and upstairs area was large enough for us to all eat together, play games, or just catch up and chat. The location is in a very nice walkable neighborhood and has food options close enough to walk or a 5 minute drive. I couldn't recommend this location more!

Perfect place for a cozy weekend away. It felt like we were staying at a family cabin. The downstairs bedroom is perfect for a pack of kids. Proximity to the lake cannot be beat.

Wonderful location! Walking distance to a sand-less, dog beach with smooth rocks. The path to the beach is a little treacherous as you have to walk on the main road, but there plenty of room in the bike line. We were a party of 8 and had plenty of room to spread out and relax. Loved every second of this trip!

The house was charming and had plenty of room for my family of 6 and 2 dogs. Great place for summer getaway!

We enjoyed our stay. We were three couples and two single adults meeting together for a football game and long weekend. Having one of the bathrooms be off the master made it unavailable to others at night leaving one bathroom for all but two people. We wish we would have understood this. The location is fantastic, easy walk to the beach and short drive to most places you want to go. The setting in the woods is really nice, the kitchen is well equipped, and the deck is wonderful.

Good location. Bedrooms are a little small and we were disappointed that none of the beds were kings like they were advertised. The fireplace was a nice addition- and having wood already there was a nice surprise. The hot tub buttons were a little sticky, we couldn't figure out how to turn off the jets but it was always up to temp and had a great view of the woods in the back. The kitchen drawers were crumby, especially the silverware drawer and some of the dishes didn't appear clean. We ran everything through the dishwasher once we arrived just in case. No major complaints for a week away in Tahoe.

Close to the lake, close to the mountains! We loved our week long stay here. The house was very clean and spacious with lots of outdoor deck space. The perfect escape from the city.

Everything worked great, kitchen had all the equipment we needed. We thought we could walk to the lake from the Airbnb but it mostly private entrances so that was a bummer. Fun neighborhood for walking and biking. agate had great recommendations, made it really simple to check in and out with the lock box, they were quick to respond about everything, all in all we enjoyed our stay and would come back! Only downside we could find was the main floor had one bathroom and it was connected to the master bedroom.

This is a beautiful, spacious house in the woods near Lake Tahoe. You can walk about 15 minutes down from the house to the public swimming beach at Patton beach. If you take a right on Sahara and left on onyx roads you won’t need to walk on the highway. It very spacious and we were comfortable there underneath the trees. It close to lots of beautiful hikes and other fun outdoor activities too! Our family of six had a great time!

The rental comoany is very easy to work with and very responsive. The view from the patio is amazing and the home is very comfy and cozy. Awesome playroom for kids downstairs.

Second stay with Agate Bay Rentals. Both times the cabins have been as advertised. We are a family of four with a 10 and 13 year old. We stay in Agate Bay because the beach is walking distance, welcomes our dog and has a place to rent paddle boards and kayaks. This house worked well for us. Prefer the flat driveway in summer. The kids bedroom downstairs was large enough for them to hang out and it had a TV. There are two bedrooms upstairs. The Master is not large but fine. The hot tub was very good to have. The kitchen supplies are sparse but enough. We brought frozen meats to grill and most of our vegetables. The grill and large deck upstairs were excellent. The hot tub is on the ground floor deck. The living area was smaller than our place year, but because there wasnt a fireplace in the middle, it actually felt bigger. The yard was great for the dog and there is a friendly dog across the street to play with. There is more traffic noise at this location but it was not a factor for me (and I am the one who is sensitive to noise). The renting process was easy and the rental company has been responsive. It gets warm upstairs in the summer. Bring a fan.

We had a great time in this home! Very quiet location. Hot tub was great and awesome that it was very kid friendly.

Really good house, spacious, neat (except their is some spider webs on the ceiling) overall was great. I will not recommend it to families with walking babies since their is a lot of books that they can reach and also the living room is on the upper level and their is no gate for the stairs. The owner was great, we have to change our trip and they made that so simply with no extra charge instead they give us money back. I will definitely go back I will just wait into my baby gets a little older.

This house is in a beautiful and quiet location and the hot tub was key on cold afternoons.

It was fantastic being so close to the dog beach! Loved the quick walk there and hanging out in the sun/water with the pups.

Very clean, plenty of extra towels and blankets. Instructions for everything were very clear.

Excellent communication and flexibility even though I could not make it until a few days into the booking. I had to transfer ownership to another guest. No problem. When I arrived on Thursday, my coworkers were happy and would not stop raving about the place. Would definitely stay here again.

Plenty of space for everyone. Location was great, walking distance to dog beach but expect to hop in the car for restaurants. Convenient location between Kings Beach and Tahoe City. Enjoyed having breakfast on the deck along with BBQing in the evening. Neighbors across the way were friendly and welcoming. Would consider staying here again. Key pick-up and drop-off was simple and easy.

We loved our time at this home! The house is cute and clean. We spent lots of time on the wrap around porch and in the jacuzzi. Even though the neighboring houses aren't too far away, all the trees surrounding the house make it feel very private. Agate Bay was very pleasant to work with - they always responded immediately to my requests.

The Forest Retreat was a quaint home to stay in, lots of beds for people to sleep on and up to date TV in all the rooms for streaming and/or watching TV when relaxing. The hot tub was very easy to use and so comfortable to sit in during cold afternoons. During our stay however, some amenities were not replenished (ie: paper towels, hand soap, toilet paper) so we had to go buy extra. Otherwise the kitchen was well stocked and Safeway is only 2mi away. The location is great, very quiet and basically walking distance from the lake. It about a 5min drive to go towards the beach-like areas next to the lake, lots of public parking and paid parking nearby. I’d recommend this rental for a simple weekend away with family and/or friends!

Forest Retreat was a great home base for our white Christmas family celebrations. The house was as advertised re room configuration/home layout (be aware the upper floor, which is the living area, only has a bathroom en-suite to the master bedroom, so at night the other bedrooms' occupants have to go downstairs for the bathroom.) The kids room was fabulous, with 5 beds + couch and plenty of space. All appliances worked great, and the kitchen was beautifully well stocked for a large group, with a full range of pots and pans (from small to large) and dishware for over 10 people. The hot tub was clean and lovely to soak in . Location couldn't be better, very easy to get to Kings Beach, Tahoe City, Alphine/Squaw and Northstar. One block off the lake (with a tiny bit of the lake visible from the deck. ) Houses visible to the sides of house, but just beautiful forest out back. Overall lovely, we had a great time and Agate Bay was a great host.

The cabin was perfect. It had plenty of games to do for both kids and adults. Lucky for us it snowed all weekend and we were located in a perfect spot for the kids to be able to play in the yard. Would definitely come back to the home.

This place has enough space for 8 adults and 1 kid and everything needed for a comfort stay. Directions were clear and even after hours it took no longer than 5 minutes to check in. Recommend this place.

Wow. What a gorgeous location! This is such a great place to stay in the summer. We were out and about most every day, but we loved being able to come back home, make dinner, and sit out on the deck. The tree coming through the deck was also so amazing. Sitting in the hot tub and looking at the stars was so great and relaxing. The beds were super cozy and there were lots of pillows. The living room and kitchen space is perfect for socializing. The downstairs area is great for kids. We loved that there was room in the garage for everyone to put their beach stuff. You can also walk to the beach/ main road. Kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Thank you so much for having us! Would definitely come back!

The place is located in walking distance of the lake. There are restaurants around it and most of nice places in north lake tahoe are with in few minutes driving of you. The second floor is great place for hangout. We enjoyed BBQ ing in the balcony and hanging out there. The down sides were that the bedrooms in the first floor were a little dark and also one of two bathrooms were inside a bedroom. So, if you are a group of 10 people, 8 of you would only have access to one bathroom during the night or early in the morning which can be hard to manage. Beside that, we really enjoyed our stay there. The price, the location and the view in the second floor were great.

Beautiful and quiet house in the woods, and very close to a lovely dog-friendly beach. The house was spacious with a wonderful patio. Check in and check out were a breeze. 10/10 would definitely stay here again when we are back in the area.

We loved our stay at this cabin it was gorgeous and the pictures really don't do it justice. It is in a great location close to everything, yet you feel like you're still in the woods still. We had a large group and this accommodated us perfectly with room to spare. Super clean and had everything you need for entertaining and cooking. I would definitely recommend and would rent again myself.

We were a group of 3 adults, 3 kids, and 2 dogs, and it was more then enough space. The kids loved the bear-themed decor. The place was clean and very convenient to Patton Beach and Sandy Harbor, 2 places I wanted to check out after having been to Kings Beach a number of times already. Safeway is about a 6 minute drive away, but we ended up eating at Gar Woods one night, and pizza nearby for our second night. The property managers were hands-off but communicated everything I needed to know beforehand so I didn't have any problems.

Loved the house. We went in a group trip. Close to GarWoods which is a great place on the water. Shopping, hiking and day adventures are all close by.

Absolutely loved it! The cabin was stocked with everything we needed for a successful trip. It was beautiful and very spacious. Key pick up instructions were very easy and made for a smooth check in and check out.

This place is beautiful and quite. I would not mind booking another vacation here again. It accommodated our needs during the night and we were able to go to places close by to explore. Its a dog friendly neighborhood so if you have pets I can definitely recommend this spot for you.

Hi, spent the weekend with friends and had a great time. House felt very clean. Nice big house with a cool room Kids would love. The hot tub looked like it had just been filled with new, sparkling clean water. Hot tub was pretty private. It was a little odd that the upstairs bathroom was in one of the bedrooms but there was also a nice large bathroom at the bottom of the stairs. The house is very close to a nice Dog beach. We felt safe going there. People socially distanced and there were picnic tables to hang. Parking was hard at the beach but parking was available on the adjacent street. Beds were a little hard but we still slept good and sheets were sparkling clean. Overall, had a great time and would return with friends.
